DCP is a unique preschool for a variety of reasons. We are the only school in our community offering programs for Birth-5 Years old, which provides opportunities for families with preschool-aged children, as well as younger children, to be a part of our school. We also do not require children to be potty-trained (with the exception of our new drop off Pre-K class).
Historically, we have offered traditional cooperative style classes, in which parents rotate through a working schedule and help out in the classroom at least once a week. The needs in our community have changed in recent years, beginning in the 2020-2021 school year, we have reorganized our classes to add a drop-off Pre-K class in the afternoon, as well a Multi-Age co-op class in the morning. This flexibility in options allows parents to decide what level of participation works best for them, and opens up our programs to families who would like to join DCP, but cannot volunteer their time during class. In addition, the age ranges for classes now overlap, so parents can decide a best fit for their child.
Regardless of which class option is selected, all families at DCP support our school by participating in annual fundraisers, school jobs, and coming together as a community for social events throughout the school year. Check out the Member Responsibilities Page for more details.
